Niu Shasha, Mezzo-Soprano.The 2007 winner of the Prize for Best Performance of the Boulangers’ Songs by the Fondation International Nadia et Lili Boulanger France in Beijing. The 2008 winner of the First Prize of the Fourth “MARTINI” International Vocal Competition in Mantova, Italy. The WenHua Award at the Ninth China Vocal Competition 2010 by Ministry of Culture, China.
She starred in a number of operas successfully. These heroines include: Rosina in Gioacchino Rossini's IL Barbiere di Siviglia, Azucena in Giuseppe Verdi's IL Trovatore, Maddalena in Giuseppe Verdi's Rigoletto, Marcellina in Mozart's Le Nozze Di Figaro, Shadow in Tan Dun’s Tea, Maid in Richard Strauss's Salome, Mary in Richard Wagner's Der Fliegende Hollander, Mercedes in Georges Bizet’s Carmen, Erda in Richard Wagner's Siegfried,Yu Shu in the Chinese original opera “Farewell My Concubine”, Pseudo-Grandam in the Chinese original opera “Visitors on the Snow Mountain”.
She is also an active concert singer, She is often invited to perform in important concert as the soloist or leading singer, and has worked with some Chinese or foreign famous Conductors, her main performances include the Verdi Requiem, Beethoven Symphony NO.9, Mahler – Symphony NO.2, Mahler – Symphony NO.3.
